Terms of Service

Welcome to Curio: Learn by Listening. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Curio mobile application (the "App") operated by liocoh ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, downloading, or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and that you accept and agree to comply with these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Curio is a mobile application that generates personalized audio lessons on topics you choose. You provide a topic and preferred depth, and the App creates a tailored audio lesson for you to listen to on the go. Lessons are generated using artificial intelligence and web research to deliver educational content.

3. User Accounts

To use the App, you must create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently or abusively.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Curio offers both a free tier and a paid subscription ("Curio Pro"). By subscribing to Curio Pro, you agree to the following:

• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• Payment: All payments are processed through Apple via the App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment information.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your iOS Settings > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access to Pro features until then.
• Refunds: We do not issue refunds directly. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.
• Price Changes: We may change subscription pricing at any time. Any price change will take effect at the start of the next billing period following notice to you.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Lessons generated by Curio are created using artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy and quality, you acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or up to date.
• Lessons are intended for general educational and informational purposes only.
• Content does not constitute professional, medical, legal, financial, or any other form of specialized advice.
• You should independently verify any information before relying on it for important decisions.
• We are not responsible for any actions you take based on AI-generated content.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of liocoh and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App without our prior written consent.

Audio lessons generated for you are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You retain the right to listen to and keep your generated lessons, but you may not redistribute, sell, or publicly broadcast them.

7. User Conduct

When using the App, you agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to generate content that is harmful, abusive, hateful, or promotes violence
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure or other users' experience
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or subscription restrictions
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the App without our written permission
• Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access to your account

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are engaging in abusive or fraudulent behavior. Upon termination:

• Your access to the App will be revoked
• Your generated lessons and account data may be deleted
• Any active subscription will not be refunded for the remaining billing period

You may also delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, liocoh and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of the App exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms within the App or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in California.
